Good Value for So Much Shade
I am very satisfied with this patio umbrella. It is easy to assemble and easy to set up each time it needs to be used. A lever secures the vertical position of the pole and the handle is easily used to crank the umbrella open or closed. I used flat garden stones from the hardware store to secure the base. The umbrella holds up well with a breeze. When too windy, the top portion can be removed and placed in a safe place or the garage. The umbrella provides great shade and is about 6’ high when open. It looks good and is a good price for what it offers. Time will tell how the material holds up and if it is prone to rusting.

    I am loving my new yard umbrella. My husband and I sit out on the patio from time to time. He likes sitting in direct sunlight, but since I am at that "special" age where hot flashes are de rigueur, I sometimes like to find a shadier spot so, this tilt umbrella is a godsend. The unit was relatively easy to set up and use. I like that the design is a hangover one, instead of a regular umbrella where the pole is in the middle. The one thing this umbrella does not come with, and you will definitely need is an umbrella weight for the bottom. When windy, this umbrella can blow over. I ordered the beige color, which coordinates with the chair pads on my patio furniture. The quality of the unit seems sturdy and gives a targeted shade over the area it is placed.

    This is a nice, affordable large cantilever umbrella. Like most umbrellas of this type, it needs to be weighted for stability. We have a sandbag designed for this purpose, and it worked well.

    We really like the offset design since it keeps the entire area under the umbrella open, without the center pole getting in the way.

    At the current price of $129, this seems to be an excellent value.

    Overall, I'm very happy with the "Backyard Expressions 10ft Offset Hanging Patio Umbrella with Crank Lift & Tilt, Outdoor Market Umbrella with UV-Resistant Canopy, Cross Base, and Air Vent for Backyard – Beige."

    Umbrella is not stable. Did not have weighted legs or a heavy base. Winds blow the whole umbrella over even when it is closed, You need sandbags or weights to keep umbrella upright. I should have returned the umbrella, but unfortunately I threw the box away which the umbrella was delivered.

    If you're simply looking for this design shade/umbrella, or even more, functionally, really want an off-arm arrangement, this is exactly what you need. Again, keeping in mind that this is a light weight item, more suitable for sheltered areas, than wildly wind-blown flats.

    I think this is the perfect item for poolside, back patio, large open porches, etc… It's easy to put up, easy to break down. It's versatile, as this style and function tends to be and why many like it. For example, I prefer this to accomplish more perfectly the end of day (or early AM, also) shading, when that sun is glaring in at a low angle. Especially in northern lats, this can be especially long in the evening and painful. As such, this style shade can get right to the ground, really providing a necessary shelter from that glare.

    Otherwise, it's a nice, fairly budget item, well made and designed for its price point. Looks good.
