I got these as an “open box” deal so the price was unbeatable. However, when they arrived they were chipped and damaged. Not a problem! Here is the process I used to make them wedding ready. I purchased some wood filler, used an orbital sander and got them nice and smooth with no more chips. Next, I primed the surface with a house wall primer I had on hand. I used interior wall paint to do the blue trim with some painters tape and a drawing compass on a paper plate for the circle/ hole. For the monogram, I also used interior paint then free hand decorated with acrylic paint for the flowers. I sealed the boards with Miniwax Spar Urethane to protect them from sun, rain & heat. They came out great for our wedding! The boards came with red & blue beanbags. My mother who sews used some fabric on hand in Green & Blue to make “covers” that we can put on them to match the boards. This was a great purchase even though it was damaged, the price I feel reflects that & if you put a little love & effort you can make them look top quality!

I spent more but it was worth it. It is well built. Heavy. Good quality. The back has a drawer keep the bags. The two boards Velcro together and has a handle for easy carry. I painted mine.

I bought these thinking they were the same brand/maker that I bought about 3-4 years back around the same price, but it was not. So my expectations were already skewed, and these fell short of a quality set. Putting aside my expectations (to be fair), the set is a good set, just not the best. The good with these is that the tops, joints and sides were sanded well and fit will. I didn’t take much more prep work to go to paint. They are also light (see more on this later), which actually turned out to be a big plus based on who I was painting/decalling them for. The hideaway slot on the back to hold the bags was also a very nice touch and really liked that. The bags themselves were also good. Now, what I didn’t like about it (once again compared to what I’ve bought in the past for slightly less), the quality of the wood was less but for most people that wouldn’t really be a problem, and the trade off is these set shed some weight. There were chips on top plywood around the edges, not sure if this was from shipping or just bad cuts. I filled and prepped them before paining. Probably the worse part and where almost (it was close) two stars were lost was that the top started to separate from the frame after just 2 games. Wouldn’t have been a problem if I expected this before painting and decalling them, but nail pops and separation are not an easy thing to correct after the fact. In the end, these saved me the time of putting together my own (I was limited on time), and for most people these will be OK, but if you looking for a higher quality set, I would look elsewhere.

I sanded certain parts so we didn't have to worry about slivers. This set came with bags but I bought my own only because I wanted specific colors. So far they have held up great, they seem sturdy and are easy to carry around (they connect with velcro and each board has a handle). I plan on making more for friends and will be buying these again.

I was a little bummed to see that some of the wood was chipped off the board, but it’s not that noticeable and hopefully doesn’t snag. This would be a great board for customizing (painting, decals, etc.). I am attaching LED lights to mine and giving it as a birthday present.

The board is sturdy, although slippery which results in bags too easily sliding right off the end, as noted by other reviewers. Also, bags that land squarely on the board, tend to slide down the board. I'm thinking of scuffing the surface a bit with sandpaper. Big disappointment is the beanbags! 2 bags split at the seams during the first use. Every time we play, a bag needs to be re-sewn. I need to buy new bags.

We are enjoying the set and found it to be priced fairly. The boards are made from quality plywood, and seems to be top grade (i.e., A-grade). We painted them to reduce the slickness of the smooth surface as well as afford them some protection. We also added some rubber material under the legs, to absorb some of the shock when used on concrete (which is where we use them) as well as help reduce movement. (I anticipate there'd be no issue if used on a lawn.) As another reviewer noted, the velcro strips which are supposed to hold the two boards together don't really do the trick, so we're contemplating a lock on each side. The storage compartment, as another reviewer noted, lacks capacity for eight bags, but we only use four, anyway. The others are spares and stored away. Overall, we recommend this set. It's good value for the money and the "issues" identified are quite minor and easily overcome.
